Even though established stores such as the Muecke Outlet are repeatedly closing in Munich, we can also look forward to new openings. Last year, Uniqlo opened on Leopoldstraße, causing long lines, and a Goldies branch has recently opened in the immediate vicinity. Now the next well-known brand is in the starting blocks: cosmetics giant Sephora announced on Instagram that it will be opening a new store in Munich.
Only three stores in Germany

Sephora has been in Germany since 2017, but was initially only part of Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof. There, the beauty giant had its own dedicated “Sephora Corner” where customers could shop for products. Sephora celebrated its premiere in Munich’s Galeria am Marienplatz, where you can still shop today. However, there are hardly any independent stores in Germany. The first Sephora store opened in Frankfurt am Main in 2017, the second in Cologne in 2019, and the third followed in Dresden in 2025. In March, the fourth location will open in Stuttgart, and shortly thereafter, the fifth will be added in Munich.

Sephora Germany itself announced on Instagram in February that the viral brand would be getting its own store in Munich. The new Sephora store will open on April 10, 2026, at Sendlinger Straße 18. The beauty giant is currently looking for employees for the Munich location, who will then be on hand to offer you advice and assistance. It is still unclear whether the Sephora corner at Galeria will remain or whether the store will replace it, as in Dresden.
Munich’s city center will soon have another store to add to its lineup with the Sephora store, following the opening of the new comic book store in the town hall in January. What will happen to the former Wormland store, however, remains to be seen. Lindt & Sprüngli is said to have expressed interest. We can also expect a new Adidas flagship store in the former C&A building.
