Even though established stores in Munich, such as the Muecke Outlet, are closing one after another, we can also look forward to new openings. Last year, Uniqlo opened on Leopoldstraße, drawing long lines, and a Goldies branch recently opened right nearby. Now the next big brand is in the starting blocks: Cosmetics giant Sephora announced via Instagram that it’s opening a new store in Munich.
Only three stores in Germany

Sephora has been in Germany since 2017, but initially was only part of Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof. There, the beauty giant had its own dedicated “Sephora Corner” where customers could shop for products. Sephora celebrated its debut at the Galeria on Marienplatz in Munich, where you can still shop today. Standalone stores, however, are few and far between in Germany. The first Sephora store opened in Frankfurt am Main in 2017, the second in Cologne in 2019, and the third followed in Dresden in 2025. The fourth location will open in Stuttgart in March, and shortly thereafter, the fifth will open in Munich.

Sephora Germany itself announced on Instagram in February that the viral brand would be opening its own store in Munich. The new Sephora store will open on April 10, 2026, at Sendlinger Straße 18. Starting at 12 p.m., you can browse the product selection and snag some new treasures. The first 400 customers will also receive goodie bags worth €50! But it pays to get there early.
Soon, Munich’s downtown will have one more store to add to its lineup with the Sephora store, following the opening of the new comic book store in City Hall just this past January. What will happen to the former Wormland location, however, remains to be seen. Lindt & Sprüngli is reportedly interested. Additionally, a new Adidas flagship store is expected to open in the former C&A building.
