After the Ratskeller recently held a flea market as part of its closure, where you could pick up discounted tableware, furniture, and other household items, this week you can continue with your wardrobe. The shoe outlet Muecke in the Einsteincenter announced last year that it would be closing its Munich branch in 2026 and is now offering huge discounts in its final clearance sale. So if you’re looking for a new outfit or a pair of shoes, you still have the opportunity to save money until the end of this week.
Shoes since 1954

It all started very modestly: the first shoes were sold from a VW bus in Kulmbach in 1954. Over the decades, Schuh-Mücke, as Mücke GmbH was still called until 2025, continued to grow and can now proudly boast 13 stores and four outlets. With over 60,000 square meters of retail space throughout southern Germany, you can now choose from over 100,000 different models.
However, one of these branches now has to close. The Muecke outlet in the Einsteincenter will close its doors on January 31. Managing Director Felix Schmuck cites a realignment of sales and a sharpening of the business strategy as the reasons for this. The closure of the Munich location was necessary for this.
Heavily discounted goods at Muecke

As part of the closure of the Muecke store in Munich, there will be a big sale until Saturday, January 31. Goods are reduced in price by up to 70%, and you will receive an additional 50% off your purchase when you pay at the checkout. Here you can find women’s shoes in sizes 33 to 45 and men’s shoes from 39 to 50. Many well-known brands are represented, such as Puma, Adidas, Gabor, Birkenstock, Vans, and McCain. Clothing, bags, and accessories are also available for purchase. The discounts do not apply to the purchase of gift cards.
If you miss Muecke after it closes, luckily you don’t have to do without it entirely. The online shop will of course continue to operate, and if you prefer to visit in person, you can do so at the branch in Augsburg, for example. Take advantage of the opportunity to grab some discounts before the weekend when you visit the daseinstein shopping center, which owes its name to Einsteinstraße. A successor for the shoe outlet is not yet known.
