An absolute highlight in July is the Munich Midsummer Night’s Dream on July 19 in the Olympic Park. Folk dancing at the “Kocherlball”
It’s worth getting up early on July 20 when the traditional Kocherlball takes place. From 6 a.m., dance enthusiasts meet in the English Garden to dance to Bavarian music in traditional costume. The Kocherlball is reminiscent of the old days when the servants, the so-called “Kocherl”, used to get together early in the morning before starting work to dance and celebrate. A great opportunity to experience Bavarian culture up close.
