Despite the renovation of the Olympic Stadium, you won’t have to miss out on Superbloom this year. After the regular festival on the last weekend in August, the fun continues with the Superbloom Concerts! Renowned artists like Sombr, Lewis Capaldi, and Bastille will be performing for you at Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz. The Fantasy Filmfest returns to Munich this year for its 40th edition. As always, the focus is on the thriller, horror, and science fiction genres, but animated films and comedies are also back in the lineup. This time, you can watch a total of 35 films at the City Kinos and discover hidden gems beyond the usual mainstream fare.

Two days of culture, art, and street vibes await you at the Corso Leopold. Following the June edition, Leopoldstraße will once againtransform into Munich’s largest street festival for two days. Around 90 exhibitors and over 200 artists across 10 stages are waiting for you. This free event features concerts, cabaret, dance, children’s activities, and a diverse range of culinary offerings with delicious treats. As always, the Zamanand Festival will be running simultaneously on Ludwigstraße. Here, too, you’ll find music, food, and cool workshops. In addition, Zamanand addresses serious topics such as sustainability and explores questions about the future.

The Jazz Room at the Sudetendeutsches Haus on Hochstraße offers a musical highlight for your September evenings in Munich. At this live tribute concert, the legacy of legends Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong comes to life in a chic, intimate atmosphere. A talented live band performs unforgettable classics such as “Fly Me to the Moon,” “My Way,” and “What a Wonderful World.”

A new festival series is set to debut in September. Elysium, a new indoor festival in Munich, is kicking off—something electronic music fans can look forward to. But before that, there’ll be one last big celebration. With “Dead Cat Walking,” one last open-air party awaits you in the courtyard, where things will really heat up. Later, the night continues at the after-party in the foyers and at the rave in the Blackbox. Dance one last time at the Fat Cat before you have to say goodbye with mixed feelings.

Movie fans, take note! If you love watching movies on the big screen, be sure to take advantage of the Kinofest in the middle of the month. During this nationwide promotion, you’ll pay just €5 for select screenings at all participating theaters. In Munich, participating venues include the Gloria Palast, the Arri Astor, and the Mathäser. Enjoy the latest blockbusters like Christopher Nolan’s “Odyssey” or classics like “Shrek” for a small price.

On September 13 at 2 p.m., the charity run organized by Münchner Aids-Hilfe will once again start on the plaza in front of the Bavarian National Museum. Register now for the 5.8 km or 10 km races and show your solidarity! Get active together and do some good in the process.
