Even before the official start of the Christmas market on Marienplatz, the city center is gradually transformed into a winter wonderland. On the one hand, of course, this is due to the large Christmas tree and the Christmas lights, which are installed weeks in advance. But it is also due to the Munich Ice Magic, which opens a week before the big Christmas market. Here you can whizz and slide across the ice or watch the skaters from outside. The Eiszauber is not only distinguished by its central location, but also by its special program.

The ice rink on Karlsplatz measures 750 square meters and allows you to enjoy this popular winter sport in the open air in the heart of Munich. The Eiszauber is open every day with a changing program. For 25 years now, the Munich Ice Magic has been a firm institution in our city during the pre-Christmas period and beyond.
A culinary offering awaits you around the ice rink, where you can fortify yourself for the next round on the skates. In the Glühwein-Alm, you can enjoy a hot winter drink with a view over Karlsplatz. The spacious wooden balcony allows you to watch the hustle and bustle from above. The Munich Christkindltram also takes you past Stachus. If you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the ice skaters from here.
Each day is divided into four time blocks in which a different program awaits you. The evening events are the highlight, but you can also look forward to great offers during the day. The price increases from block to block, with the first block lasting from 10:30 am to 1 pm and starting at €8. The prices increase by €2 per block until the evening; there are also rental fees for skates if you don’t have your own.
📍 Location: Karlsplatz Stachus
📅 Dates: November 21 to January 11

In addition to face painting, there is also children’s entertainment to keep the little ones entertained.
The themed events take place every evening in block 4 from 19:30 to 22:00. Each day of the week has a different theme with special offers. These are this year’s themes at the Munich Ice Magic:
