Many Christmas markets call Munich their home and they all have their very own charm, like the Märchenbazar or the Tollwood Winter Festival. This Christmas market in the north of Munich is characterized not only by the fact that it starts the earliest, but also by its extensive offer. Every year there is something new to discover, marvel at and experience – these are this year’s highlights.
Extensive experience

At most Christmas markets, we stroll past the stalls, sip a punch or mulled wine, sample the delicacies and look at the displays. Winterworld offers you all of this too, but goes far beyond that. Here you can get active with ice skating or try your hand at curling, where the rink has been extended by five meters this year.
Once you’ve exhausted yourself, you can take a seat in one of the Ferris wheel gondolas and look out over the festively decorated area from above. There is also a historic carousel for children, which is over 100 years old and evokes nostalgia, and a small train, which is new this year.
Christmas market of superlatives
Once you’ve had enough fun for the day, head for the world’s largest talking elk. The animal, which is celebrating its premiere at Winterworld this year, measures a full 2.3 meters in height and 4 meters in length. The lip-sync talking moose will not only amaze children. The largest Christmas pyramid in Munich is also not to be missed. It has four rotating elements and enchants visitors to the Christmas market.
The Motorworld Alm is also larger this year and offers space for up to 170 people. It can be booked and is therefore perfect for larger Christmas parties. Smaller teams can choose from one of the chalets, which are available in different designs. Of course, you can also celebrate birthdays here or simply spend a nice evening with your loved ones. Winterworld offers over 700 covered seats, so you can enjoy your visit even in bad weather.
The Winterworld program
In addition to its 30 exhibitors and numerous activities, this year’s 3rd edition of Winterworld offers you an extensive program. DJs and brass bands will take turns performing on the wagon, which will serve as a stage. You can also look forward to various artists and Perchten. If you still need a Christmas tree, you can also find one at Winterworld.
Children will be particularly interested in Santa Claus, who can be found in his Christmas workshop every day. Wednesdays are always Children’s Day, when you can benefit from discounted prices. There is also face painting for children. Experience the magic of Winterworld as a whole family.
