In March, it’s that time again and Munich celebrates International Women’s Day. Over the weekend, there will once again be various events and demonstrations that celebrate girls and women, but also raise awareness. Among them is this year’s “We Won’t Shut Up!” festival, which focuses on women’s issues throughout the entire month and invites visitors to cultural events and happenings.
Feminism meets creativity
“We Won’t Shut Up” is taking place in Munich for the sixth time this year. The collective behind the event launched the festival in 2020 with the aim of raising awareness of women’s rights and giving them visibility. In doing so, they want to highlight and interweave as many different aspects and topics as possible.
This is achieved on the one hand through lectures and information stands that serve to educate, and on the other hand through creativity, in which women and FLINTA* people can express themselves and present themselves. With music, art, and humor, they skillfully take center stage and celebrate International Women’s Day and all girls and women together with you at “We Won’t Shut Up!”

From March 5 to 29, “We Won’t Shut Up!” celebrates Women’s Month and invites you to numerous exciting and fun events. Look forward to concerts, workshops, panel discussions, film screenings, and much more! You can find the entire program here. International Women’s Day on March 8 will of course be celebrated extensively at “We Won’t Shut Up!”
Five concerts and a DJ set await you on Sunday, so you can sing and dance to your heart’s content. The Kurdish poet will touch you with her poetry and inspire you to reflect during her reading of “Auf einen Mokka mit Sue” (Over a Mokka with Sue). If you need something to laugh about afterwards, stay for the Comedy & Drag Show , where drag artists and comedians will keep you in good spirits. Both events will take place at Bellvue di Monaco.
