Even though the Olympic Stadium is currently undergoing renovations, that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on open-air concerts in the Olympic Park. Not only is Superbloom returning to the park this year with a host of artists in tow, but the Theatron Pentecost Festival is also back in action. For three nights, acts from all over Germany and beyond will be playing awesome concerts for you—and admission is free!
A large lineup
The Theatron Pentecost Festival has been around for 26 years now and, as the name suggests, takes place over the Pentecost weekend. From Saturday, May 23, to Monday, May 25, you can look forward to four concerts every evening —and they’re free of charge. The festival is organized by the Munich Youth Cultural Center, which uses the event to provide a stage for emerging artists while also making culture accessible to everyone.
Once again this year, there’s a colorful mix of genres on offer, ranging from punk rock to pop to hip hop. The acts come from all over the German-speaking world, including Berlin, Stuttgart, Chemnitz, Vienna, and Brugg in Switzerland. Local musicians from Munich are also on the lineup, such as Stresshotel Mutti, Fruchtiger Beigeschmack, and Fliegende Haie.
Here is the lineup for each day:
- Saturday, May 23: Stresshotel Mutti, Power Plush, Vandalisbin & 6Euroneunzig
- Sunday, May 24: Fliegende Haie, Dino Brandao, Horizontaler Gentransfer & Bangerfabrique
- Monday, May 25: Die Leute, Fruchtiger Beigeschmack, Teer & EsRap

The concerts take place on the lake stage, so you’ll have a beautiful view of the water. Of course, you can also listen from the Olympiaberg, but then you’ll miss out on the cool stage shows. You can bring your own food and drinks, but please don’t leave any trash behind. That said, there are also food stands on site where you can grab something to eat or drink. You can reach the Olympiapark via the U3 or U8, from where it’s just a few minutes’ walk to the Seebühne. The concerts start every day at 5 p.m. and last until after 10 p.m. You’re free to come and go as you please, but please keep the stairs and pathways clear.
