After Munich’s club scene had to cope with the loss of institutions like the Blitz Club this summer—and with the DNA Club also closing its doors—all techno fans in the city on the Isar can now look forward to some real fresh energy! In Munich-Moosach, right on Dessauerstraße not far from the Olympia Shopping Center (OEZ), a defunct newspaper printing plant is being brought back to life.
Under the name Printhouse—a deliberate nod to the world-famous London venue Printworks—the city’s trendiest new hotspot is taking shape on a site the size of a soccer field, featuring halls up to nine meters high and a covered loading yard. The official opening will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, starting at 10 p.m., with “Printhouse Edition 0001” and a top-notch lineup featuring The Lady Machine, the Zenker Brothers, Budino, Euphrat, and Isabel Soto. Admission at the door is 15 euros, though the first event is already completely sold out.
Industrial charm meets Berlin light art
Where local newspapers such as the Münchner Merkur and tz rolled off the press for the entire city for over 30 years, the beat will now come from a powerful Incubus sound system by Void. Following the closure of the old Ippen printing plant at the end of 2025, the Moosach site is now being transformed into a massive venue for culture and techno. Anyone who loves the raw, industrial look will love the Printhouse.
Curator Christoph Pankowski (formerly one of the organizers of Munich’s Autonomica Open Air raves) places great importance on letting the building retain its history. The bars will be built using existing furnishings, and there are deliberately no permanent fixtures. For the visual spectacle, they’ve brought in exclusive reinforcements. The legendary Berlin-based team Bachstelzen (known for the Fusion and Garbicz festivals) will conjure up the lighting concept in the large halls. For now, the first season’s program features six curated major events, one each month.
Future Plan: A Gigantic Cultural Center for Munich
The club nights are just the beginning of a massive transformation! Over the course of 2027, the site is set to evolve into a full-fledged cultural center that goes far beyond weekend nightlife. Plans include concerts, exhibitions, theater, and unique events featuring jazz or opera. Even though final approval for the permanent change of use is still pending, Pankowski’s vision is clearly defined. The Printhouse is set to become a vibrant place that offers a good reason to stop by—even on weekdays!
