Munich is notorious for its nightlife. Famous clubs like the Blitz are known far beyond the city limits, while others are particularly popular with celebrities. Just as spring is kicking off in the city, the open-air season is also getting underway. And alongside the well-known festivals, a new event is joining Munich’s calendar: On May 2, the Libellen Lust Festival launches a format that redefines the boundaries between electronic music and free self-expression.
More than just a festival: A community
What makes “Libellen Lust” so special: It’s not just about the bass and techno. The festival makes a clear statement for consent culture, body positivity, and inclusivity. Here, everyone is free to be who they want—provided the dress code is right. Street clothes stay outside! Creative, tribal, or kinky outfits that become part of the performance are in demand. Anything goes, as long as it’s unusual.
For its premiere, the Libellen Lust Festival is heading to the Containerwerk Freimann on May 2. From 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM, several well-known DJs will be spinning here. Amidst steel, concrete, and railroad tracks, a raw backdrop emerges that perfectly matches the vibe. Under the opening theme “Burning Fashion” ( inspired by the legendary Burning Man), the area transforms into a “futuristic and creative” space.
