There are countless Christmas markets in Bavaria that make Advent a special experience, be it the floating Christmas market on the Danube or the Christmas market on the Waldwipfelweg. The Bavarian landscape is not only characterized by waters and forests, but above all by mountains. And of course there are also Christmas markets with a mountain backdrop, for example in the Allgäu. Numerous exhibitors and a colorful program including a unique parade await you here.

A magical village of huts with 130 exhibitors aw aits you at the Christmas market in the Allgäu. A total of 200,000 lights make the 80 or so stalls and the surrounding market sparkle. Here you can buy unique handmade items such as ceramics, jewelry and even floristry. An absolute highlight is the forge, where you can watch new ironware being created live. If you need to fortify yourself after your Christmas shopping, you can do so with punch and mulled wine as well as regional delicacies.
Afterwards, you can take a look at the exhibitions or visit the nativity scene. At the Christmas tree exhibition, families, schools and kindergartens present their decorated Christmas trees, which can provide you with inspiration for your own home. The most beautiful one will be chosen on St. Nicholas Day. You can also admire hand-carved nativity figures at the nativity scene exhibition. Or you can go straight to the living nativity scene and watch the spectacle in the flesh. Finally, you can marvel at the ice sculptures by Master Klaus Grunenberg.
Colorful offer for children

The adventure Christmas market in Bad Hindelang is the perfect Advent outing for the whole family. Not only does St. Nicholas visit the Christmas market and hand out his gifts, but the Christ Child is also present and looks forward to receiving your wish lists. There is a special children’s Christmas market in the castle courtyard, where a nostalgic carousel awaits you. You can also look forward to a photo shoot with the Snow Queen and a visit from other wintry characters such as snowflakes and angels.
Pippi Longstocking will be waiting for you in Villa Kunterbunt to read you exciting stories. Children’s Day takes place on December 4, when you can bake cookies with Pippi, Tommi and Anika and watch the puppet show. Children aged 6 and over can try their hand at horseshoe forging or watch the magical ballet “Alice in Wonderland”.
Musical mountain Christmas and big parade

A musical program is a must at the Christmas market experience. In the music pavilion and in the Musikstadel, you can expect daily changing performances by various artists. Whether yodelers, bands or choral societies, whether organ, harp or alphorn, they are all represented. The latter are part of the traditional mountain Christmas, which is of course a must in the Allgäu.
An absolute highlight is the unique Christmas parade, which can only be found in this form in Germany at the adventure Christmas market. 160 figures from various fairy tales and legends parade through Bad Hindelang and take you into a magical world. On November 28 and 30 as well as December 12 and 14, you can be there live when the parade passes through the town.
From Munich, you can reach Bad Hindelang in around 2 hours and 15 minutes by car. The adventure Christmas market is open on the first three Advent weekends from Thursday to Sunday and costs between €6 and €11 to enter, depending on the day of the week.
