Munich’s open-air summer just never ends. No sooner have two of July’s most beautiful highlights—the Gärtnerplatz Festival and Klassik am Odeonsplatz —come to a close than the next one is already in the starting blocks. A Midsummer Night’s Dream will once again transform the Olympic Park into a unique open-air stage, where not only a musical spectacle but also an actual fireworks display will light up the sky. Look forward to cool live acts and an enchanting show on the shores of the Olympic Lake, which will make this summer night truly magical.
From newcomers to industry giants

This year’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” will take place on Saturday, July 11, at the Olympic Park. There will be two stages featuring both DJs spinning for you and live acts performing . The main stage is located on Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz and will feature not only DJs but also three artists. Newcomer SEDA will kick things off, touching the audience with his soulful voice and thoughtful lyrics. Next up is Zoe Wees, who, at just 23 years old, is already making her mark on the international pop scene. Finally, at 8:15 p.m., headlining duo Madcon will take the stage and get you dancing with an energetic show.
But that’s not all —two more acts are waiting for you on the peninsula. Cosmica Bandida will bring Latin beats to the stage, while Caribou will captivate the crowd with electronic sounds. There’s also a dedicated karaoke area where you can show off your own musical talents. Street food from around the world will give you the energy to dance the afternoon and evening away and perfectly rounds out the experience.
New Fireworks Show at the Summer Night’s Dream

As always, the grand finale of the Summer Night’s Dream is the big fireworks display at the end. This time, however, the organizers have come up with something very special and conceived a new show called “TETRA – The Shape of Energy.” Along with the fireworks, 150 glowing drones will take to the sky. Together with other lighting effects, they’ll perform an impressive choreography set to well-known hits like “Viva La Vida,” “Titanium,” and “Mr. Brightside.” The grand finale begins at 10:15 p.m. and lasts a full 30 minutes. If you want to see more drone shows after that, you can look forward to late August, when the next Drone Art Show will take place in Riem.
Tickets for the Summer Night’s Dream are available in two categories, both of which grant you access to all stages and the pyrotechnics show. There are also VIP packages with exclusive access to a separate viewing platform and a special culinary offering from Coubertin. You’re not allowed to bring your own food onto the grounds, but you can bring up to one liter of non-alcoholic beverages in plastic bottles. Doors open for “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at 3:30 p.m., and we recommend taking public transportation.
