This year in Munich, we’re being treated to numerous concerts by world-famous artists: The Weeknd, BTS, and Sean Paul have already graced us with their presence. So this Friday, August 21 , you can look forward to a show by none other than David Garrett. Germany’s biggest international violin sensation is gracing Munich with a top-class open-air concert that brings together lovers of both classical and contemporary music.
Symphony Meets Pop Hits
David Garrett’s latest album, titled “Millennium Symphony,” was released back in 2024 and reached No. 2 on the German album charts. The violinist is currently touring the country with this album and will return to Munich this weekend. On August 21, he’ll bring his “Millennium Symphony” to Königsplatz, promising a spectacular show. David Garrett already performed at the sold-out Olympiahalle last year and is now adding an open-air concert to the mix.
On the tour, you can expect hits from well-known pop culture artists spanning the last 25 years. From Rihanna to Taylor Swift to Ed Sheeran and David Guetta , numerous renowned musicians are featured in the program. In between, you ’ll hear classical pieces by composers such as Mozart and Rachmaninoff. David Garrett won’t be performing alone on stage; instead, he’ll be joined by an orchestra and a band—for an all-around spectacular celebration of music!

The concert on Friday starts at 8 p.m., though doors open as early as 6 p.m. You’re not allowed to bring bags larger than DIN A4 size, so stick to the bare essentials. The best way to get to Königsplatz is by public transit. Just take the U2, the City Ring, or bus 100, which will take you directly to the venue.
