As the afternoon gives way to a gentle twilight, the Augsburg Zoo will be transformed into a luminous, dreamlike setting from November 26, 2026, through January 9, 2027. For the zoo’s new director, Dr. Philipp Wagner, the fourth season of this light spectacle is a true premiere. Along a newly designed, approximately two-kilometer-long loop trail, the Christmas Garden Augsburg whisks you away into a luminous world full of impressive light installations and atmospheric music.

A trip to Swabia promises an atmospheric getaway for young and old alike. Along the way, cozy food huts serving fragrant mulled wine, punch, and savory and sweet treats invite you to refuel. For the little ones, there’s a carousel, a kids’ scavenger hunt, and on select days, even a visit from Santa Claus. On these special days, you’ll save significantly compared to standard tickets and can experience the sea of lights together with your loved ones.

- Directions & Parking: If you’re traveling by car, free parking is available right at the entrance to the Augsburg Zoo. If you’re coming from Augsburg by public transit, take bus line 32 to the “Zoo / Botanischer Garten” stop.
- Admission prices: Standard tickets for adults starting at €15.90, children (ages 6–14) starting at €11.90; children 5 and under get in free. FlexTickets and discounts are also available for schoolchildren, college students, seniors, and families.
