The countdown is on—only two days left until the Wiesn kicks off! The rides are set up, the beer mugs are polished, and the carnival operators and tavern owners are ready to go. All that’s missing now for a successful kickoff is sunny Oktoberfest weather. And as it looks so far, that’s exactly what we’ll get. But that probably won’t be the case on Sunday. Here’s the weather forecast for the entire first Oktoberfest weekend.
No new heat record
The 2025 Oktoberfest kicked off with scorching heat. Thermometers read a whopping 31°C at the opening— a record high in the festival’s entire history. Despite this year’s hot summer, we probably won’t see a new record this weekend. Mostly sunny with a few cumulus clouds and temperatures up to 24°C, no precipitation—perfect Oktoberfest weather! So you won’t have to stand on the side of the road with an umbrella and a poncho as the landlords’ parade passes you on its way to Theresienwiese.
At Oktoberfest itself, you’ll be strolling leisurely through the alleys and checking out the attractions. You should still bring a jacket, though, in case you want to go out after your visit to the Wiesn. That’s because temperatures drop to as low as 11°C on the night from Saturday to Sunday, and it can get chilly pretty quickly—especially when you’re wearing a dirndl or lederhosen.
Wiesn weather on Sunday will be more changeable
After kicking off the festival on Saturday with great Oktoberfest weather, Sunday’s forecast unfortunately looks a bit more mixed. Temperatures will remain similar, with highs of up to 24°C, so you can pull your traditional attire out of the closet again. Instead of sunshine, however, mostly cloudy skies are expected. At least it’ll stay dry during the day. A few drops might fall in the evening, but fortunately, you don’t have to worry about heavy rain.
According to the current forecast, the weather will remain sunny for the time being next week, though it will cool down a bit. As things stand now, the thermometer won’t reach 20°C at the start of the week. Nevertheless, the Oktoberfest weather will remain sunny and dry for the time being, so you can fully enjoy the start of Oktoberfest.
