The start of fall also marks the end of the outdoor swimming season, and anyone wanting to go swimming in Munich these days has to do so indoors. Fortunately, our city has quite a few indoor pools where you can splash around, relax, or swim laps. One of the most popular is definitely the Westbad, which—after a lengthy closure—will finally be open for you again soon. As a special grand-reopening offer , SWM is providing a discount at the Westbad.
Renovation Largely Complete

The Westbad in Pasing has been around since 1961, though the current indoor pool was built starting in the mid-1990s. Over time, the pool had begun to show its age and needed renovation. After a lengthy closure, it was finally able to reopen in 2025—only to close again in the spring of 2026. The filtration system was to be brought up to date; the latest construction work began on April 27 of this year. The outdoor pool was unaffected by this and served you as usual throughout the season.

Now that the renovation is complete, fortunately you won’t have to go without the Westbad for much longer. It will be open again starting in mid-October, so you can go swimming in Pasing even in the fall and winter . However, you’ll have to do without the outdoor saltwater pool for the time being, as renovations to the filtration system there aren’t quite finished yet. Nevertheless, SWM doesn’t want to keep you waiting any longer and will open the Westbad for you on Wednesday, October 14.
Discount at the Westbad as compensation

Since the indoor pool has been closed for so long and you won’t be able to use the outdoor pool for the time being, you’ll receive a discount at the Westbad to celebrate its reopening. This offer is valid until work on the saltwater pool is complete and you can once again take full advantage of the facility. You’ll receive a 20% discount on your admission to the Westbad, which also applies to quick swims and for holders of the München-Pass.
The regular day pass, which includes access to the sauna area, now costs just €14 instead of €17.50, and the family pass costs only €30.50 instead of €38.10. The 20% discount also applies to reduced-rate tickets, so you ’ll save even more and pay just €8.40 instead of €10.50. If you want to go swimming with your kids or enjoy the sauna, you should definitely take advantage of this discount at Westbad.
