Munich is brimming with breakfast options, but when it comes to bagels, our city has been rather lacking so far. Café Vollaths now aims to fill this gap with the brand-new Vollaths Bagelbar near Sendlinger Tor. Directly across from the original location, the new shop has been open since June 25, offering bagels and drinks at fair prices.
Once upon a time, someone went on a trip

The idea for his own bagel café came to Andreas Vollath during his own vacation. Inspired by American bagels, the idea of bringing them to Munich took shape. After all , he already has experience in the restaurant business through his own café at Thalkirchner Straße 1 .
As luck would have it, a storefront became available right across the street at Thalkirchner Straße 2, so nothing stood in the way of Vollath’s Bagel Bar. After thorough preparation and fine-tuning the perfect toppings, the big day finally arrived on June 25, and Munich’s first bagel café opened its doors. Since then, you’ve been able to enjoy these NYC-style bagels at Vollath’s Bagel Bar.
Something for every taste
The selection at Vollath’s Bagel Bar is impressive: From classic salmon and avocado bagels to the elegant truffle-goat cheese bagel, there’s a wide variety to choose from. In addition to the meat-based options, vegetarian and vegan choices are also available. And for those who prefer sweet over savory, you can choose between a bagel with lotus cream, blueberries, or raspberries on pistachio cream. If you prefer cake, you can order it right here without having to cross the street to the other Vollath’s location.
You can easily place your order via the self-service system. First, choose whether you ’d prefer your bagel plain, with sesame seeds, or with multigrain, and then click through the selection. There are also salads as sides and drinks at fair prices. For example, a cappuccino from the portafilter machine at Vollath’s Bagel Bar costs just €2.80! You can also order juices and matcha here. You can then enjoy your meal right there or take it to go. Thanks to its proximity to the Sendlinger Tor subway station, Vollath’s Bagelbar is an ideal spot to grab a quick breakfast before work. But it’s also worth a visit for brunch, lunch, dinner, or just a quick bite between meals.
