“You can’t always get what you want, but sometimes you get what you need”, goes the age-old song. And boy, are those words still true. So, enjoy a draft beer in one of the many beer gardens in our city.
Forestry Großhesselohe
The Wawi stands for a fusion that does credit to the cultural melting pot that Munich has become. In a beer garden in the best Bavarian tradition, you can listen to live concerts in the cozy atmosphere of a jazz club while eating delicious Japanese Wagyu ribs or burgers. And all this in a beautiful location in the middle of nature and directly on the Isar.
Royal deer garden
In terms of its capacity, it should actually be called imperial instead of royal. However, the Hirschgarten with its 8,000 seats – there are many less populated places in Bavaria – and almost 240 years of history cannot be described as anything other than an absolute classic, serving Augustiner beer, König Ludwig wheat beer and fresh Steckerlfisch. And also offers the security that you will always find a place under your chestnuts.
Hirschau in the Englischen Garten
Surprisingly, for a facility in the English Garden, the Hirschau is far less crowded than its larger siblings. Opened in 1840, its 2000 seats still provide a lively atmosphere – especially on spring and summer evenings when live concerts are played. It’s the perfect end to a long walk through the park: with a Löwenbräu beer in your hand and a plate of Steckerlfisch in front of you.
