In the mood for romance? Then Munich is the perfect place for you and your better half! The Bavarian capital has a wealth of romantic spots to offer that will make your heart beat faster. Whether you’re newly in love or have been a couple for years, you’re guaranteed to find the perfect spot for a break together here. If you’re still looking, we’ve put together a few romantic places where you can spend your date.
The Rose Garden

There is probably no more classic gift for a romantic occasion than a rose. But what if you could give more than eight thousand roses in two hundred different varieties? You can do just that at the Rose Garden on the Isar, which is still a little-known gem. The roses may not be in bloom yet on Valentine’s Day, but the cherry trees are almost there—and that’s the perfect excuse for a nice picnic.
The tree of eternal love in Nymphenburg Palace Park

Nymphenburg Palace and the surrounding park are already romantic places in their own right. They have everything: majestic fountains, hidden paths, and secluded villas. Even its history is brimming with romance. But nothing beats the tree of eternal love with its countless vows of love from couples in love, located here at the edge of the canal. For the perfect date, follow up with a ride in an original Venetian gondola on the palace canal.
The Hacker Bridge

When you think of romantic activities, watching the sunset together immediately comes to mind. When the weather is good, there is hardly a better – or more classic – place for this than the Hackerbrücke. From here, you can look out over the railroad tracks to the horizon, dangle your legs and enjoy the fabulous view. It’s best to bring a delicious drink with you so you can toast together.
The Asian Gardens in Westpark

Another very romantic and exciting plan is to travel together. Fortunately, you don’t need a lot of money to discover the wonders of the Far East. Just come to Westpark and stroll through the Japanese and Chinese gardens before stopping at the Thai temple. Here you can soak up the Asian atmosphere, or you can continue strolling through Westpark and make a detour to the goose by the water.
The Flaucher footbridge

The Isar is a classic among Munich’s romantic spots. The Flaucher in particular has won over many hearts and is especially popular in summer for barbecuing and swimming. However, the Flaucher footbridge is perfect for a nice walk at any time of year, as its wooden planks give it a special charm. After crossing the river via the footbridge, you can then stroll either upstream or downstream and discover more romantic spots.
The Monopetros

The English Garden offers many beautiful places and corners where you can linger, such as the Chinese Tower. But if it’s too crowded there, the Monopetros is a good alternative. Many a couple has met for a date under this Greek-style pavilion. Here you can linger together, watch the hustle and bustle on the lawn below you, and watch the sunset.
