Spring brings color to Munich: everything is sprouting and blooming everywhere, whether in the Hofgarten, at Marienplatz, or in the city’s parks. If you can’t get enough of the colorful sight, simply bring the flowers into your own home. You can buy them, for example, at a florist or supermarket of your choice, or—if you’re looking for a particularly good deal—at the flower outlet near Feldkirchen. But if just picking them out and buying them is too boring for you and you’d rather cut your own flowers, you can do that at the flower fields of the Morigl Hof, for example, where you’ll find a wide selection of seasonally changing plants starting at Easter.
A profusion of blooms for everyone

The Morigl Hof is a family-run farm in Karlsfeld that specializes in wool and barley, among other things. But the flower fields are also a mainstay of the farm, of which there are currently four. In addition to the two locations in Munich, you can also stop by in Karlsfeld and Dachau to pick flowers. The fields at the Morigl Hof are open daily from Easter through October for you to pick flowers. The selection varies depending on the season.
In April, you can enjoy daffodils and tulips; later on, there are sunflowers, gladiolus, and dahlias. Additionally, since 2020, the Morigl has been sowing native meadow flowers and flowering plants under the motto “Bee Happy” to provide food for bees and other insects. You can purchase these flowers as well.
Through the Year with the Morigl Hof

You can cut flowers in the flower fields at the Morigl Hof until fall. But that’s not the end of it. In keeping with the season, after summer ends, you can buy ornamental and 35 varieties of edible pumpkins. Unfortunately, you can’t harvest these yourself from the field, but you’ll find stalls selling them at the edge of the flower fields. During Advent, the Morigl Hof sets up Christmas tree sales at several locations.
If you’re in the mood to pick your own flowers or perhaps want to surprise your date, visit the flower fields at the Morigl Hof in Pasing and Moosach. A single flower costs less than €1, and you can pay on-site either in cash at the register or via PayPal on your phone.
