This week, there’s one place in particular you should be in Munich. And we don’t mean the classics around the English Garden or coffee spots in Maxvorstadt. The Munich District Week is coming up and brings you seven days of a full cultural program: The Munich districts of Aubing, Lochhausen, Langwied, Am Westkreuz and Freiham will be buzzing. Over 110 clubs, creative people and institutions are organizing a festival in the heart of western Munich. Be there from Thursday, July 17 to Wednesday, July 23 – all with free admission!
What is the Munich Neighborhood Week?

The Munich District Week is a large, annual cultural festival that takes place in the heart of various districts of Munich. Each year, a different district takes the spotlight, with the local community showcasing their neighborhood, their talents and their club culture. This year: the west of Munich.
The programs are designed by local associations, artists, schools and institutions themselves. From the neighborhood, for the neighborhood! The festival is as informal as you can imagine and offers entertainment for every interest and every age.
The motto “We do something” is particularly important for the Munich Neighborhood Week because it sums up the spirit and purpose of the event: people in the neighborhood work together to shape and enliven their surroundings. The many volunteers, associations, artists and neighbors demonstrate this: People don’t just talk here, they act and do.
What can I experience there?

Above all, culture, a good atmosphere and lots of encounters! The Munich District Week thrives on its varied program. Every evening there are performances by well-known Munich artists and ensembles. These include concerts, but also cabaret and cabaret, classical and contemporary plays, sports, readings and much more.
You can find the whole program here. Here is an overview of some of our favorites:

However, the central festival site is on Belandwiesenweg (81245 Munich). This is where the main events, concerts and the stage program in the circus tent and beer garden take place.
