The Katzentempel in Türkenstraße has been a popular destination for cat lovers and fans of vegan cuisine alike for several years. At the end of last year, the restaurant in Maxvorstadt got some reinforcement. Another branch of the franchise has opened in Munich, offering not only an animal-themed dining experience, but also sporting events and other exciting activities.

Katzentempel cafés can be found throughout Germany and operate on a franchise basis. These cafés, where you can enjoy your food alongside roaming cats, are now located all over Germany. The furry friends always come from animal rescues and find their new home in the temples. The food on offer is exclusively vegan, both sweet and savory, and often includes seasonal specials.
To ensure that the cats feel comfortable, there are plenty of toys, climbing and scratching facilities, and numerous beds where they can make themselves comfortable. They also always have a place of retreat that is not accessible to café guests. This allows them to hide away when the hustle and bustle becomes too much for them. Animal welfare is a top priority at Katzentempel, and there are strict requirements that franchisees must follow.
Yoga with cats for more relaxation

Since November, there has been a new branch of the franchise in Munich where you can’t just pet cats and eat delicious food. No, the Katzentempel in Freiham has something very special in store. While puppy yoga is already on everyone’s lips, cat yoga is still something of a rarity. Before the pandemic, you could already do cat yoga in Türkenstraße, but the offer has not been resumed. That is set to change in the future, but for now, this special sporting experience is only available in Freiham.
Here you can enjoy a yoga class with cats romping and playing around you and even settling down on your mat. According to yoga teacher Magdalena Riedl, this has a relaxing effect on participants. It also means you get to spend more time with the cats. After the yoga session, you can enjoy a buffet, which varies slightly depending on the time of day. The next cat yoga sessions are on February 23 at 8:30 a.m. and March 3 at 5:30 p.m.
Apart from cat yoga, you can also look forward to other cool events at Katzentempel Freiham. On February 11, you can make new friends at Speed-Friending, and on February 25 & 27, you can learn more about keeping cats at exciting seminars.
