A lively atmosphere, festival tents, and millions of guests from all over the world: Oktoberfest once again turns the Bavarian capital into the center of attention. To ensure that every female visitor can enjoy a carefree Oktoberfest experience, tried-and-true safety initiatives such as “Safe Wiesn for Girls and Women” and the City of Munich’s Women’s Night Taxi project are in place. If you lose your bearings, your companions go missing, or you need assistance, girls and women can find professional helpers right on site. We’ve summarized all the important information for you!
Here’s how to find the Safe Space right behind the Schottenhamel Festhalle

Since 2003, the “Safe Oktoberfest for Girls and Women” initiative has been providing prevention and on-site support. The Safe Space welcomes any woman or girl who finds herself in an emergency, has lost sight of her group, or needs a safe place to catch her breath. The counselors help , for example, by arranging a ride home. Trained staff are also on hand to assist with health-related or personal emergencies and, if necessary, accompany those affected to the police. Unfortunately, due to capacity constraints, a charging service for empty cell phone batteries is no longer available this year. Last year demonstrated just how high the demand is: In 2025, a total of 354 people took advantage of this assistance.
📍 Where? The Safe Space is located on the Theresienwiese in the service center behind the Schottenhamel festival tent at the “First Aid” entrance near the police Wiesn station.
🕐 When? Open daily from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. | Friday through Sunday, and on October 2 & 3 starting at 3:30 p.m.
📱 You can reach the team by phone during Oktoberfest at +49 (0) 89 / 890 57 45 188.
🎁 Of course, this assistance is available free of charge .
With the Women’s Night Taxi, you can get home safely and affordably late at night

The City of Munich offers financial assistance to women for their nighttime trip home. The Women’s Night Taxi subsidizes the ride to a Munich residential address. The service is intended for women traveling alone, groups of women, and mothers with children under the age of 18.
Between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., the city’s 10-euro vouchers can be redeemed for taxi rides. You can obtain these discount vouchers at the citizen service offices upon presentation of appropriate identification or proof of eligibility. However, the vouchers expire on September 30, 2026. Since the festival runs until October 4, passengers should check in advance whether an extension policy applies for the remaining days.
