Exactly 100 years ago, the Münchner Kammerspiele moved into its legendary home at the Schauspielhaus on Maximilianstraße. To properly celebrate this centennial anniversary, one of the last two remaining Art Nouveau theaters in Germany will be transformed into a party venue on October 24, 2026, starting at 5:00 p.m.! The best part for you: The Münchner Kammerspiele is hosting a 12-hour house party with completely free admission. You won’t need tickets or prior registration to dance, sing, and dream the night away on one of the most exclusive and expensive streets in the world.
This is how the Münchner Kammerspiele are celebrating their 100-year history
The spectacular evening begins at the Habibi Kiosk with the performance “What the Walls Tell—100 Years, 100 Lives,” before the doors of the historic building open to all guests at 6:00 p.m. Cakes and pastries will be waiting for you at the reception in the Steinfoyer and Charlotthof. Afterward, performance artist Doris Uhlich and her ensemble will take you on a fascinating journey through the building’s impressive architecture. In the main hall, the chairs have been removed and a ramp installed, connecting the audience area directly to the stage.
Following fictional opening speeches about the history of the Münchner Kammerspiele, the festivities continue at 8:00 p.m. with a colorful drag show. Afterward, there will be a lively karaoke session on stage where you can take the mic yourself. To keep the energy going, you can burn off all your energy at 11:00 p.m. with Balkan Aerobika on stage. Then the legendary “Long Night of Lucid Dreams” begins, keeping you going through the night until 5:00 a.m. Various food and drink stands, as well as TAM TAM’s Beggar Bar in the upper foyer, will provide the perfect refreshments throughout the night.
