Winter and mountains simply belong together and we in Munich are lucky enough to be surrounded by them. Unfortunately, you don’t get to see them at the Christmas markets in the middle of the city. Winter gondola romance
Four ski gondolas await you on the roof terrace, which can accommodate up to 6 people. They have been in use in the Zillertal Arena in Austria for 28 years, taking vacationers and day-trippers up and down the mountain. Now they serve as a romantic hut for your cozy dinner.
Thanks to the heating and new furnishings, you can make yourself really comfortable in the ski gondolas while you choose from one of the three menus on offer: Raclette, cheese or meat fondue. To get a seat in the gondolas, you must book in advance. From the roof of the Marriott Hotel in the West End, where Cloud 6 is located, you have a wonderful panoramic view of the mountains and the illuminated buildings of the city, which will turn your dinner into a winter dream.
Hut magic and curling fun at Cloud 6
If you’re the spontaneous type and want to drop by without a reservation, that’s no problem either. In addition to the ski gondolas, the roof terrace of the Marriott Hotel also offers plenty of winter delicacies at the Christmas huts. Try potato gratin, pancakes, roast beef and cinnamon dumplings, accompanied by the perfect hot drink. Aside from the classic mulled wine, there is also mulled champagne and Hot Aperol Royal.
If you need some exercise after your feast, you can try your hand at the curling rink. Up to eight people can compete against each other here. A mulled wine is already included in your booking. You can book online in advance or spontaneously on site, subject to availability.
