We Munich residents are best known for our love of beer and Aperol. Accordingly, you can find both the hoppy beverage and the aperitif on practically every corner, whether to enjoy on the spot or to go. If you’re ever craving a change of pace and want to try other drinks, Munich naturally also has a few cocktail bars to offer. The owners of Call Soul – Breaking Bar near the English Garden have come up with a particularly creative concept. As the name suggests, the drinks here are inspired by the famous TV series “Breaking Bad,” making your visit here a unique experience.
Impressive effects
Even entering Call Soul feels a bit clandestine: the entrance isn’t directly on the street, but on the side of the building, and you have to go down a flight of steps. Then you step through the heavy door into a dark room that instantly transports you to an underground lab. The decor , featuring neon tubes and the periodic table on the wall and on the menu, creates a stylish atmosphere inspired by “Breaking Bad.” This is evident not only in the name but also in the posters of Walter, Jesse, and Saul.
But the real stars are the cocktails. These are served to you in test tubes, Erlenmeyer flasks, and even small bathtubs. Your drink might even smoke, glow, or burn. No matter what you order, every drink is an experience and puts on a great show thanks to spectacular effects. While you wait for your own order, you can be captivated by all the performances around you. Of course, there are also non-alcoholic options, so there’s something for everyone.
Food & Drinks at Call Soul

The creations at Call Soul not only look spectacular but also taste great. Here, you won’t find established classics like mojitos or caipirinhas, but rather creative concoctions made with the bar’s own spirits. You can even purchase these spirits yourself in Call Soul’s online shop. If you’d like something to eat with your cocktails, you can order burgers and tacos.
But the spectacle at Call Soul comes at a price: the cheapest cocktail currently costs €21. However, you can get water, beer, and cola for significantly less if you’d rather stick to those and just watch the action at the next table . Tequila fans among you should also pay a visit to the House of Tequila at Münchner Freiheit. This is also part of Call Soul and, with over 100 varieties, likely offers Munich’s largest selection of tequila.
