The Bambi is one of the oldest German media awards and is also considered the most important. Now in its 77th year, the Bambi was awarded this year on November 13 at the Bavaria Film Studios, bringing glitz and glamor to Munich. It honors personalities for their special achievements and visions, which are reflected in their media impact. This was this year’s award ceremony.
Review of the gala
Around 1,000 guests were invited to the Bambi Awards 2025. Those who couldn’t be there watched the big gala via livestream on Prime Video. Amazon was the Bambi’s media partner for the second time in a row and streamed the awards ceremony free of charge. Michelle Hunziker hosted the evening together with Felicia Hofner, known as Feli. Many national and international stars were present and walked the red carpet, including Cher, Heidi Klum, the Kaulitz twins, Micheal Bully Herbig and Cate Blanchett.
In addition to the two presenters, various laudators took turns on stage to present the awards in the respective categories. Among them were Hannes Jaenicke, Hannah Herzsprung and Thomas Gottschalk. The latter presented the award in the “Legend” category and irritated the audience with his statement that he had never taken any woman seriously in his life, with the exception of award winner Cher. Gottschalk even received boos from the audience for this.
Apart from this faux pas by the TV legend, it was an all-round successful evening. Between the awards, musical interludes provided variety, such as Sophie Berner and Tokio Hotel. The Kaulitz brothers themselves were nominated in the “Culture” category with their podcast, but came away empty-handed. The awards ceremony was followed by the big after-show party “BAMBI Beats ” where the stars partied side by side until the morning.
The winners
The Bambi was awarded in a total of 14 categories this year. Almost all of the award winners were chosen by a specialist jury of editors-in-chief. Only the Audience Award, as the name suggests, is voted for by the public. The nominees in this category were three musical talents who move people with their music. 1,300 prizes have been awarded in the Bambi’s entire history. The fawn was not always golden, but started out modestly as a simple, white ceramic figure. The figure is now made of bronze and is gold-plated. 18 carat gold, 28 centimeters high and weighing 2.5 kilograms – that is the Bambi today. The record for the most trophies is held by actor Heinz Rühmann with a total of 12. We would like to congratulate this year’s winners, who can now call the fawn worth €3,000 their own.
