If you’re already longing for a festive mood in mid-November, you should mark the long weekend of November 12–15, 2026, in red on your calendar. From 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day, the grounds of the Schleißheim Palace complex will be transformed into a sparkling winter wonderland. Amid festively decorated market stalls, you can browse for handmade gifts, enjoy culinary delights, and soak up the magical pre-Christmas atmosphere at the “WinterLust” event against the historic backdrop of the palace.
“WinterLust” delights with sparkling lights and a festive program

The entertainment program will keep visitors in awe and create a festive atmosphere throughout the four days. Look forward every day to imaginative stilt walkers and a thrilling fire show. Children can look forward to the all-day nostalgic carousel, face painting, hands-on workshops, story time, and a visit from St. Nicholas on Sunday at 3 p.m. Live music and exciting expert talks will also ensure a great atmosphere.
Discover the Baroque palace complex at Schleißheim

During your pre-Christmas outing, discover the beautiful setting of the Schleißheim Palaces as well. The often-underrated Schleißheim Palace complex in northern Munich is a Baroque ensemble that combines three buildings within a significant Baroque garden. In addition to the monumental New Palace—once planned as the Bavarian “Versailles” with a facade over 300 meters long—the more intimate Old Palace now houses exhibitions from the Bavarian National Museum. At the far end of the park, the island-framed Lustheim Palace enchants visitors with one of the world’s most important collections of Meissen porcelain.
