Attending a classical concert with a baby? What may sound like an unusual combination at first will soon become a very special family experience in Munich. Candlelight Babies brings the magic of classical music to the city for the first time in a format specially tailored to the little ones. Giggles, crawling, and kicking are expressly welcome here, while gentle melodies resonate in the warm glow of thousands of candles. The first concert will take place on January 9, 2027, at the Trudering Cultural Center. Anyone who wants to secure a seat early can sign up for the waiting list now.

What is Candlelight Babies?
At Candlelight Babies, you can look forward to a 45-minute live concert designed specifically for babies aged 0 to 36 months and their parents. Well-known masterpieces of classical music are performed in gentle, child-friendly arrangements, creating an atmosphere that delights little explorers just as much as their parents.
And the best part? No one has to sit still here. On a cozy, cushioned area, babies can crawl, play, or snuggle up to their parents to their heart’s content. Meanwhile, adults take their seats on comfortable tatami mats and enjoy the music together with their little ones.
Little Ears, Big Sounds: Why Music Is Good for Babies
Even the youngest babies respond to melodies, rhythms, and gentle sounds. Music can help them relax, stimulate their senses, and gather their first musical impressions. It’s especially wonderful when parents and babies experience these moments together: While the little ones listen curiously, kick their legs, or snuggle up, the grown-ups enjoy a little break from everyday life. Candlelight Babies thus combines early musical discoveries with precious time spent together.
Kulturzentrum Trudering

The Trudering Cultural Center at Wasserburger Landstraße 32 transforms into an atmospheric concert venue for the whole family. Since its opening in 2005, it has been one of the cultural hubs of this Munich neighborhood.
Getting there is easy, even with a stroller: From the Trudering train station, you can reach the Cultural Center in just a few minutes by taking bus 193. If you’re coming by car, you’ll find free parking on Feldbergstraße. Thanks to step-free access, an automatic entrance door, and an elevator, there’s hardly anything standing in the way of a relaxing visit.

A special outing for you and your little ones
Between naps, diaper bags, and everyday life, there’s sometimes little time for shared activities outside your own four walls. Candlelight Babies offers you the opportunity to experience something new with your little ones, immerse yourselves in the world of music, and get to know other parents.
The concerts usually take place in the late morning or around noon, making them easy to fit into the family’s daily routine.
