If you have a dog, you’ll have a clear destination on the third weekend of October: On Saturday, October 17, and Sunday, October 18, 2026, DogWorld opens at Motorworld Munich. Last year, more than 30,000 visitors attended the event. This time, there will be 150 exhibitors and brands spread across three halls and the outdoor area. Of course, four-legged friends are also welcome to attend the event.
A thrilling 40-meter dachshund race featuring the defending champion

The highlight for many is the 4th Munich Dachshund Race. On both days, 127 dachshunds from Germany and other European countries will take to the track at the Dampfdom on a 40-meter-long, non-slip indoor course. The races are divided into different weight classes.
Luitpold from Eching, Germany’s fastest dachshund and reigning world champion, will also be competing. In 2025, he ran the “Dachshund Mile” in 3.58 seconds and claimed victory for the third time in a row. You can watch from the track to see if he can beat his personal best again on Sunday. All dogs undergo a veterinary checkup before the race and , of course, run voluntarily. At the end of the race, the fastest four-legged competitors will be honored on stage .
Stage program featuring celebrities and a variety of hands-on activities

TV host Diana Eichhorn, known from the popular animal show “hundkatzemaus” on VOX, will host the main stage program. She is the patron of DogWorld and the Dachshund Race. A key focus this year is on greyhounds, with a dedicated panel of experts discussing the topic. Experts will also discuss important topics such as dog health, cruel breeding practices, the puppy trade, and purebred breeding.
The fun-filled program also includes DogDance demonstrations featuring members of the German national team and the K9 unit. In addition, the DogHero award—the Dog Cross of Merit—will be presented. There will also be an extensive hands-on program , including workshops with your own dog, a fitness and prevention course, and a children’s program on how to interact safely with dogs. All activities are included in the admission ticket.
Exhibit booths featuring everything from pet food to air travel

Exhibitors range from small retailers to luxury brands. The booths cover areas such as food, snacks, and grooming, accessories, dog photography, art, training, and animal physical therapy. On the topic of travel, an airline specializing in flying with dogs will also be presenting itself. The Munich Animal Shelter, Munich Animal Rescue, and the charity campaign “München geht Gassi” will also be showcasing their work.
