If you’re traveling in southern Munich in the evenings or at night over the next few days, you should expect significant restrictions due to construction work. Two major construction projects are underway on the A995 highway between Taufkirchen-West and the end of the highway in Munich-Giesing: First, the road surface will be completely resurfaced before a dilapidated bridge near Unterhaching-Nord has to be demolished.
To keep rush-hour traffic flowing as smoothly as possible during the day, Autobahn GmbH is having the roadwork carried out at night as well . Nevertheless, you should be prepared for road closures during specific time slots.
An overview of all important times and closures

To avoid being caught off guard by closed lanes, you should keep an eye on the upcoming dates. Work begins Monday through Friday, September 14–18: During this time, one lane in the Munich-bound direction between Taufkirchen-West and München-Giesing will be closed daily from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. On Thursday and Friday, September 17 and 18, you will also be unable to use the on-ramp at the Unterhaching-Nord interchange during the same time window.
In addition, you should expect further resurfacing work at the Munich-South interchange during the week beginning September 28. Finally, starting in early October, clearing work will begin at the Unterhaching-Nord interchange. This work is in preparation for the complete demolition and subsequent reconstruction of the overpass there over the A995, as the old structure is simply too dilapidated to be renovated. Anyone traveling around Unterhaching in the late afternoon and evening hours should therefore take a wide detour or allow for a little extra time.
Even though the renovation of the A995 between Giesing and the Munich-South interchange has put your patience to the test in recent weeks, the end of this marathon of construction is finally in sight. According to Autobahn GmbH, the project is now entering the home stretch with the final roadwork, so traffic there should flow smoothly again in the foreseeable future.
