First Things First: Relaxing at the impressive regatta course

Hop on the S-Bahn to Oberschleißheim (S1) or Dachau (S2), and you can take a direct bus to the venue. The trip takes about 50 minutes. By car, it takes 30 minutes; by bike, 45 minutes.
Once you arrive, you’ll immediately feel the Olympic charm. A massive grandstand overlooks the 2.2-kilometer-long water course. Gold medals were won here in 1972; today, the course is a historic landmark but remains an important gathering spot for water sports enthusiasts! Take some time to explore the area— there’s plenty to see here!

The 5-kilometer loop around the Regattastrecke—perfect for inline skaters!

For inline skaters, the paved loop around the regatta basin is ideal. A continuous 5-kilometer route! You can enjoy the great view of the rowing regatta boats training!
It’s probably hopeless, but why not try to keep up with the rowers in the water? They can reach speeds of up to 30 km/h! That’s why swimming in the regatta course is prohibited. But don’t worry: the perfect way to unwind is just around the corner.
Right next door: Cool off in the Regattaparksee

But the perfect swimming spot is right next door. On the sunbathing lawns of the idyllic Regattaparksee, you can relax and jump into the crystal-clear, turquoise water. The perfect way to cool off!
While relaxing on your towel, you can delve a little deeper into the history of this fantastic place : In the mid-80s, Formula 1 races with motorboats even took place in the regatta basin! Today, such racing boats reach speeds of up to 250 km/h in the water !
